Lawrence Gordon was born in St. Louis, Missouri. He attended the University of Missouri where he received his Bachelor of Arts (1975) and Juris Doctor (1978) degrees. He is licensed to practice law in both Missouri (1978 - currently active) and Minnesota (2007 -currently inactive). He has extensive trial and business experience. He served as an adjunct professor in both the law school and department of economics at North Asia University in Akita Japan. He currently resides in Kobe Japan where he is an adjunct professor at Konan Women's University.
